Japanese bridge by Claude Monet

At the end of the 19th century, the famous French painter Claude Monet moved into his house in the Normandy town of Giverny. He was looking for a quiet place to live with his wife and children and soon found out that he had found a nice place to grow old. In the beautiful garden he started the project to build a pond and start a water lily nursery. Also weeping willows and a beautiful Japanese bridge were added here, of the latter you ended up on our collection of reproductions! Monet has portrayed the Japanese bridge in many different ways, each time from the same position, but in a different season and with a different light, so none of the paintings are the same. Nice to know: the painter had the river Epte diverted especially for the construction of his pond, his neighbors were not very happy with this, fortunately it yielded a lot of beautiful art!
